Meaning & History

From Greek εὔλαλος (eulalos) meaning "sweetly-speaking", composed of eu meaning "good" and laleo meaning "to talk". This was the name of an early 4th-century saint and martyr from Merida in Spain. Another martyr by the same name, from the same era, is a patron saint of Barcelona. The two may in fact be the same person.
